Intervals are a great tool to create more surprising guitar solos and blues licks. Interval playing suggests harmony and prevents your lines from become too “scale-like”.
In this tutorial we’re looking at the 6th interval, both major and minor. Combine this with for example the Symmetric Dominant Scale which I covered in a previous lesson and you have quite a few tricks up your sleeve that will lift your guitar solos to another level. Also in another video I mentioned the use of 3rd intervals.
Once you start combining these ideas you will start creating and improvising with great licks and lines that will capture your audience.
