Joe Satriani… Learning to play electric guitar wouldn’t have been the same for me if it wasn’t for Joe! I started playing when I was 16, and I would soon discover the skills of this amazing guitarist. So many songs of his that I have played back then: Satch Boogie, The Forgotten Part 2, War, One Big Rush, and I could go on and on.
There has always been a lot of debate among guitarists on who’s the best guitarist in the world. Many would claim guitarist A (for example Steve Vai) would be better than guitarist B (for example Yngwie Malmsteen). It is a pointless debate in my eyes. I like to talk about who’s my favourite guitarist. The great thing about that is that there is no competition. It also means it can be one guitarist today and another one next week. Or even better… I can have more than one favourite 🙂
Joe Satriani has been one of my favourite guitarists over time. Not because of his skills as a guitarist but because he creates fantastic melodic compositions. Sure his guitar solo’s are a display of greatness but how he is using harmonic changes, modulations, etc to take them to another level is unique to Joe.
So why this video? Yesterday I had some time left at the end of the day so I thought, why not have some fun and record a video? Well this was the result and I hope you like it!
